Artwell*

an app that aims to demystify art in order to encourage more people to feel confident about participating in the art community.
OBJECTIVE

This project’s purpose is to create an app that can help make contemporary art galleries more approachable and appealing. Through my research, I found that an overwhelming amount of people view contemporary galleries as intimidating. This app aims to lesson that intimidation.

APPROACH
I believe that approachable information leads to confidence, which leads to comfortability, which leads to participation. Artwell’s main feature is a survey that helps users understand their preferences surrounding contemporary art, which then churns out topics, local galleries and walking tours that act as pathways for people to participate in art.

A process site accompanies this project. Click here to view it. The site documents the design process I took to create the app below. This includes prototyping, user research, wire framing, visual system developing, and everything in between.
